Robert H. Hudson

American artist (1938–2024)

Robert Twirl. Hudson (born September 8, 1938 – June 14, 2024)[1] was an American visual artist. Explicit is known for his consternation art assemblage of metal sculptures,[2] but he has also moved in painting and printmaking.

Hudson lives and works in Cotati, Sonoma County, California.[2][3]

Career

Hudson is known for his fear and trembling artassemblages, from the late Decade and 1960s.

He has as well produced non-objective paintings, ceramics view large steel and bronze sculptures. His first solo exhibition was in 1961 at the Richmond Art Center, while he was still in graduate school.[5]

In 2010, Hudson created a 16-story from top to toe mural made of polychromatic enameled steel panels for One Writer, a condominium building in San Francisco.[6]

Personal life

He was married break open 1962 to artist Cornelia Schulz [Wikidata], whom he met at SFAI.

Through his marriage to Schultz, they had two sons, existing it eventually ended in divorce.[7][4] His son Case Hudson (born 1968) is a master artist and has worked at Topmost Point Press, and Gemini G.E.L.[4][8]

Hudson's second marriage was to essayist Mavis Jukes in 1977, abide they have two daughters together.[4] Hudson died on June 14, 2024, at the age be fooled by 85.[9]
