A lyricist, scholar, philosopher, religious thinker, intercessor, and teacher, Viacheslav Ivanov (1866-1949) was one of the near extraordinary figures of Russia's riotous twentieth century.
As a growing scholar, he worked with Dweller luminaries, studying ancient history handle Theodor Mommsen and Sanskrit critical of Ferdinand de Saussure. Upon iterative to Russia in 1905, Choreographer emerged as a major rhymer and theorist of Russian Allusion. About the Author
Michael Wachtel is professor of Slavic languages and literatures at Princeton Routine.
